Businesses, policymakers and sustainable transport providers came together on 30 June for ZEN Expo 2026, a trade show dedicated to promoting zero-emission logistics and the growing role of cargo bikes in urban transport.
Organised by the Zero Emissions Network (ZEN), the event took place at The Ecology Pavilion in Mile End, bringing together 20 exhibitors from across the cargo bike sector. Retailers, manufacturers and courier companies showcased the latest innovations and services designed to help businesses reduce emissions while improving the efficiency of operational transport.
The expo opened with welcome remarks from Cllr Shafi Ahmed of Tower Hamlets and Stella Yeung from the Greater London Authority, who highlighted the importance of supporting businesses as they transition to cleaner, more sustainable forms of transport. Both speakers emphasised the role that cargo bikes can play in improving air quality, reducing congestion and helping London achieve its environmental ambitions.
One of the event's major highlights was the launch of 24 cargo bike purchase grants, each worth up to £2,500. The funding aims to encourage more businesses to adopt cargo bikes as part of their operations, helping to lower the upfront cost of investing in zero-emission transport.
Throughout the day, visitors had the opportunity to meet with exhibitors, learn about different cargo bike models and speak directly with businesses already using them successfully. Attendees included companies and organisations exploring how cargo bikes could be integrated into their own operations, whether for deliveries, maintenance services or other commercial activities.
Reflecting the event's commitment to sustainable logistics, all food and drink served during the expo was supplied by businesses that use cargo bikes as part of their delivery operations. This provided a practical demonstration of how zero-emission transport is already supporting local enterprises and helping create more sustainable supply chains.
ZEN Expo 2026 highlighted the growth of the cargo bike industry and demonstrated the increasing interest from businesses seeking cleaner, more efficient transport solutions. By bringing together industry experts, public sector partners and prospective users, the event provided a valuable platform for networking, knowledge sharing and encouraging wider adoption of zero-emission transport across London.
