New design for Old Street Roundabout

Have your say on the future of Old Street Roundabout.

In the heart of the City Fringe, Old Street roundabout is changing. The existing roundabout will be removed and a two-way traffic system re-introduced, creating a new pedestrianised public space. Facilities for cyclists will also be improved with segregated cycle lanes and traffic signals incorporated into the scheme.

In December 2017, Islington Council, together with the Mayor of London, TfL and Hackney Council, issued an ‘Open Call for Design Ideas’ to create an iconic gateway at Old Street. The longlisted entries are now on display in a public exhibition so that people who live and work in the area, can view the designs and have their say.
